The fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Kenya
The Supreme Court has ruled in favour of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer persons in their quest to officially register as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). On November 23, 2021, the Supreme Court heard the case challenging the decisions of the High Court and Court of Appeal to allow the Kenyan National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (NGLHRC) to be officially registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO).
